Meet Yessica Ross, LPC
Providing specialized, bicultural support to help you understand and break the cycles holding you back
From Personal Experience To Professional Healing: My Story
I immigrated from Mexico to the United States as a child, and that journey deeply shaped the woman and the clinician I am today. I remember the overwhelming weight of the transition—the moments where I carried more than a child ever should. I navigated the complexities of self-esteem, the search for identity, and the frustration of emotional patterns that kept repeating, even when I desperately wanted change.
Because I went through much of that journey alone, I dedicated my career to becoming the person I once needed: a guide who listens closely, understands the intricate dance of cultural and family dynamics, and helps you untangle the cycles that have been shaping your life without your consent.
As a bilingual and bicultural therapist, I offer a unique space where your story is honored in its full context—without anything getting lost in translation. Whether we are working in English or Spanish, I provide a steady presence to help you move toward healing with clarity, compassion, and clinical expertise.
I believe we are created for connection. When we feel disconnected from ourselves, our families, or our sense of purpose, the pain is real. My work at Breaking the Cycle Psychotherapy Services is centered on helping you understand that pain, reconnect with what matters most, and build a more intentional, stable future.
For clients who desire it, faith can be thoughtfully woven into our sessions as a source of strength and guidance. My approach always pairs this spiritual integration with evidence-based therapeutic care to ensure you are supported on every level.
Breaking Cycles, Building Connection
BTC Psychotherapy is a specialized bilingual practice in Athens, GA. We empower individuals, couples, and families to untangle repeating emotional patterns and break free from the intergenerational cycles that hold them back from a connected, intentional life.
A Specialized Approach to Sustainable Change
Breaking long-standing cycles requires more than willpower; it requires a specialized clinical approach rooted in awareness, cultural safety, and steady support.
01 | Compassionate & Direct
I provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where we can be honest about the challenges you’re facing. I hold space with deep compassion and clinical clarity, ensuring your story is heard with the respect it deserves.
02 | Practical & Result-Oriented
Therapy should provide you with tools you can actually use outside of our sessions. My approach is practical, offering evidence-based strategies to help you navigate triggers, regulate your nervous system, and respond differently to stress in real time.
Your background, upbringing, and cultural identity are central to who you are. As a bicultural therapist, I understand the nuances of navigating multiple worlds and ensure your specific cultural context is honored throughout our work.
03 | Culturally & Biculturally Grounded
To create lasting change, we must look below the surface. We work together to trace current relationship patterns back to their roots, understanding how early experiences shape your present connections and emotional responses.
04 | Attachment-Based & Root-Focused
05 | Faith-Inclusive (Optional)
For clients who desire it, I offer the thoughtful integration of Christian values and trauma processing. We approach faith with care and consent, allowing your spiritual beliefs to serve as a meaningful source of strength and hope.

My Therapeutic Philosophy
Safety is the Foundation: True healing and change only begin when you feel emotionally and culturally safe.
Your Roots Matter: Your culture, upbringing, and family history are not just background noise—they are the blueprints for how you connect today.
Cycles Can Be Broken: Patterns make sense when we learn where they came from. Once understood, you are allowed to grow beyond what you were taught.
Change is a Collaborative Process: You have the capacity for deep change, but you do not have to navigate the path to stability alone.
